Samsung is desperate to win back the trust of people after their much-hyped Galaxy Fold bombed in the smartphone market. The company purposely leaked details of their upcoming S20 variant to create a buzz . Not so surprisingly, they’ve played the leak card yet again, with new renders of a Samsung phone floating on the internet.

Their latest is Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, intercepted by WinFuture’s Roland Quandt and well-known leaker Evan Blass. High-resolution renders of Galaxy Z Flip are available, featuring the clamshell design that resembles Nintendo DS. It has almost non-existent bezels with the phone folding like a compact foundation powder shell. When opened, the phone measures 167.9 x 73.6 x 6.9-7.2 mm. The dimensions of the phone shorten to 87.4 x 73.6 x 15.4-17.3mm when closed.

The phone has a good viewport with a 22:9 aspect ratio making it taller than the average Galaxy phone. Galaxy Z Flip’s 2636 x 1080 native resolution ensures that you have a good experience when watching a movie on the road. The sharpness does not tire your eyes easily.

Galaxy Z Flip has a central punch hole camera just like Galaxy S20. Shutterbugs may be disappointed as the phone may lag in image resolution, courtesy the dual system consisting of 12MP f1.8 primary camera and a 12MP f2.2 wide-angle secondary camera. Selfies may be fairly better because of the 10MP, f2.4 cameras.

Galaxy Z Flip is powered through a 3,300 mAh battery. It offers wireless charging as well. On the back of the phone, there’s a small 1.06-inch (300 x 116 pixels) external display for notifications when the phone is folded.

There are rumors that Galaxy Z Flip will be a mass market phone. It means broke people like me can afford it when we want a vacation from the generic flat thick-bezel phones. Let’s hope it comes under the price tag of Rs 24,000.
